Test knitting, or pattern testing, involves knitters reviewing and knitting a pattern before its official release. This process helps identify errors, clarify instructions, and suggest improvements, ensuring that our patterns are accurate and easy to follow for knitters of all levels.

Selection Process

We carefully match test knitters with projects based on skill level, experience, size preferences, and feedback turnaround. All skill levels are welcome, including beginners! Please note: To meet testing deadlines, we prioritize knitters who can commit to a minimum of 1 hour of knitting per day for each project.

At Project Weekend, we appreciate the invaluable contributions of our dedicated test knitters. To express our gratitude and facilitate your testing process, we can occasionally provide yarn support. However, please be aware of the following terms and conditions:

  • **Refund Percentage:** Depending on the specific project, we offer a refund ranging from 25% to 50% off the regular retail price of any Project Weekend yarn purchased to complete the test knit.

  • **Qualification Criteria:** To qualify for the yarn support refund, you must: - Complete the test knit using Project Weekend yarn. - Submit the pattern feedback before the specified deadline.

  • **Refund Calculation:** - If you choose to acquire your yarn through the purchase of Project Weekend Yarn Bundles, which come with pre-existing discounted prices, your refund will represent the variance of up to the total project yarn support discount relevant to the specific test knit project for which you utilized the yarn bundle. - Kindly note that the cost of shipping is not encompassed within the refund.

  • **Deadline Adherence:** It is crucial to adhere to the specified deadline for submitting your pattern feedback to be eligible for the yarn support refund.

  • **Non-Transferable:** The yarn support refund is non-transferable and applies solely to the original recipient of the yarn for the designated test knit project.

  •  **Shipping Costs:** The refund does not cover the cost of shipping, which remains the responsibility of the test knitter.

  •  **Limited Availability:** Yarn support is subject to availability and may not be offered for every test knit project. By participating in our test knitting program and availing yourself of yarn support, you acknowledge and agree to abide by these terms and conditions. Project Weekend reserves the right to modify or discontinue the yarn support program at any time without prior notice.

YARN SUBSTITUTIONS

  • You are welcome to make yarn substitutions when test knitting Project Weekend patterns, provided that the chosen yarns align with the specified gauge. 
  • Please be aware that Project Weekend does not currently provide a yarn support program for projects involving yarn substitutions.
